NASA's budget is being decided for next year within the next few days and it is crucial that we, as individuals representing a multi-faceted but unified community, make our wishes heard.

  • NASA Cuts Threaten KSC Life Sciences
    NASA, university, and contractor work within the state-built Space Life Sciences (SLS) Lab at KSC is threatened by a $17.5 million cut to KSC's budget for life sciences research. The cut is proposed within a 2006 budget amendment submitted to Congress by NASA. More »

  • NASA Plans for Plant and Animal Research
    An August 11, 2005 memo sent to Congressional Staff by a Legislative Affairs Specialist at NASA HQs discusses NASA's plans for plant and animal research (related to reductions in funding and consequences to several contracts). A response to the memo was submitted by Tom Crabb, Vice President, CFO of Orbitec (an ELMS Coalition Member Organization) to "respond to key points in the published memo of 11 August 2005, to put certain reviews into perspective, and to correct certain misunderstandings about contract activity."
